Your mom is a gem, a real treasure. I so enjoyed our walk together thru her garden (with the GPPA group). She is a joy for sure. And let her know I'm gonna do my best to get those gardenia cuttings to root - fingers crossed & prayers said !!!

Growing up, I was surrounded by potato fields. After all, it was long island. In lean times we lived on potatoes and bluefish . Now there is only a fraction left gone over to Mc Mansions. Good one !

Thank you. I have some really wonderful photos of a crew of women from the city doing weekend duty to help feed the troops in World War II and I’m pretty sure they are picking up potatoes on Long Island!
