Florence, Italy. Tom and I are visiting friends here this week. It’s winter here, but the weather is lovely, mostly sunny and in the mid-50s. One morning, deep in the warren of tiny streets created by apartments, shops, and cathedrals held up by medieval timber frames, Tom and I stopped in a leather store before heading out for garden visits.
I fondly remember my Tom and I walking those gardens on a rather warm day and the scent of all those bay trees, rosemary and more. We got to the top, sweaty, breathing hard and there was a small cafe perched to one side. we went over to have a glass of water and had our first Affogato, the simplest of desserts, rich gelato dropped into a shot of espresso. Simply devine.
Ooooo I love Florence have a wonderful time and take lots more wonderful pictures
Oh, how beautiful! And the flower stall….
Wow. You're in Italy! Soak it up.
I totally understand and get it! I did the same thing in 2011 when I visited the first time.
I just love Italy with all its architecture, art, food, wine, and GARDENS!
