I Suck at 'The Elevator Pitch'
Finally, I think I have clarity on describing the new book that's in the works
Groups invite me to do presentations about garden design, plants, garden history, soils, garden philosophy, and sometimes broad topics like our warming climate.
I can pair pretty slides to stories and lessons and talk all day long. But writing a brief, catchy presentation promo eludes me.
Just like writing a one-page synopsis for my books. Is it practice? Or are our minds just wired differently? Can you write a quick jingle, a haiku or hone an elevator pitch easily?
I need the tricks for boiling things down to sexy but informative content. After 4 years of working on my current book, I think I have finally captured it. But now I need a few days to think about it before it actually goes on paper —- well into this blog.
